Fuel Filter
Excuse my ignorance. I am trying to do my own filter change service on my 3.5 v6 GLS Pajero 2000 model (Jap import) and need to know where is the fuel filter located? Can anyone help. Thanks ;)

Re: Fuel Filter
bolted to one of the chassis rails towards the rear of the car. Yes you have wriggle underneath the car to get to it.

Re: Fuel Filter
Hi, I have crawled the length of the car on both sides following the chassis rails and although I see the fuel lines I see no filter. Weird

Re: Fuel Filter
Thanks SimonB, That is what i imagined it should look like - but it is not there? I have had a number of differences with this particular Pajero. (Jap Import). For instance my front wheel bearings are the double wheel bearing and not the cheaper ones that you get on the Sa versions also my Air Filter is a large panel filter appraently also different to the SA one. I cannot believe I cannot find this fuel filter. Thanks for your assistance anyway.
Re: Fuel Filter
Is the Pajero in question a Gen 2 or Gen 3? Is it a GDI?

As far as I know the 3.5 V6 fuel filter is mounted at the rear of the vehicle in the top of the fuel tank in a unit called the fuel pump assembly.

On the LWB Gen2 the pump can be accessed through a hatch in the floor of the luggage compartment. When the floor carpet is removed, the bolted down hatch will be visible. I think the SWB is the same.

On the Gen 3 LWB the fuel pump module can be accessed through a double hatch under the second row of seats. I think on the Gen 3 SWB there is a hatch somewhere on the floor behind the front seat.

Re: Fuel Filter
Hi Gerrit Loubser, Thanks for this info. Mine is a Gen3. I have located the double hatch below the second row of seats. This leads me to what would appear to be a fuel pump of sorts. Where would the fuel filter be? Thanks

Re: Fuel Filter
Could the fact that this fuel filter has not been changed (at 260000km) be causing bad fuel consumption? Thanks

Re: Fuel Filter
Hi Gerrit, This pump assembly seems to have its own cover held down also by some small bolts. If I look under this cover would I see the fuel filter. What complications or things should I know when chaging this filter? Thanks
