What a difference! Expensive ones really justify the extra price. They are truly fantastic and give great light.

Now imagine spending even more on Warn spots. 
These things are awesome with 130w bulbs. I was lucky enough to get a good second-hand set.
I was very tempted to go the cheap route, but in the end I am very happy I waited.

They are powerful. Apparently you can fit 100W bulbs - that would be amazing - I am just worried that I may fry my wiring?

I don't really know the price as I got them for free. All I know is that they are 100 times better than the cheap ones you find at midas. They probably gave me about 100m extra viewing distance. And as new treat I saw a gemsbuck last night and when I crawled to a stop it walked 2m away from the car past the passenger window (not that its attributed to the spots but I did see him early to approach slowly)
I guess price is always relative.
I got my comets from Midas, and they told me not to take the "cheap stuff" - so they regard the comets as "more expensive". But then they also had really expensive spots. I think they were Warn?
Be it as it may, I guess I'll try the 100W bulbs and see whether there is a difference. My auto-electrician must first advise about the wiring, though.

I first had a set of those nice and shiny R 300 no-name brand joppies from Midas. Started rusting in week 2 and fell apart on the roads of the Kalagadi. Then also fitted Hella Comets, which seems OK so far.
I cannot see myself spending thousands on spot-lights. As a rule I try to avoid any long distance night driving, so the Comets are more than sufficient.
