Basically slightly different looks and the introduction of Diff Lock (amongst a few other minor things)

The petrol NL model in SA has the same 3.5 DOHC engine than the previous models (I have not yet seen one with the SOHC engine as per USA spec), and has cruise control and Read Difflock. The diesel has the 2.8 engine - same as previous models.
Otherwise still identical to the previous model. (except for "flared fenders" - aka "blister fenders").
They split the rear seat somewhere in 96-97.
