Hi all, my gen 3 rims are such that they sit somewhat in under the wheel arches, making the body look disproportionately wider than the wheel base. Has anyone heard of succesfully spacing the rims outwards ( say20-30mm), or is the idea rubbish?
The ammount of stress you would put on the wheel bearings does not warant the looks

The Rims fitted to our vehicles have a zero(0) offset. That is why it looks as if the tyre is hidden under the body. You can buy replacement mags with a bigger offset or you can fit spacers of 30mm. These spacers are available from Maugene Engineering in Silverton Pretoria. The contact person is MJ Cummings and their number is 012-8041170. These guys have been in the wheel spacers bussiness for very long and manufacter spacers for LA Sport, 4 x 4 Megaworld etc. Unfortunately, they start at 30mm and then go thicker. They will require the PCD of your wheels which in your case is 6/140. I have tested several thicknes spacers and recommend the 30mm ones. Reason being, if you go more, the front wheels, on full turn, fully pushed up into the well start to touch the insulation covers etc. If you do not use your vehicle off-road you can go 40/50mm, but then you start to put to much extra stress on your wheel bearings and their life will be reduced. I do not recommend aluminium spacers as they wear out after a few tyre fit/removals.

2 Do you think 40mm will catch on my Gen3 Pajero, being fitted with suspension lift and ARB bumper bar?
3 They said that the price(about R375 per wheel ex vat) does not inlcude the studs/nuts etc. What did you do in this regard? Press studs? nuts and bolts? size? quality?
