I can also give some feedback... I had the Lynx 4x4 (For Fours) front bash plate fitted (it is a 1-pice plate tha covers the intercooler and sump) - as in the previous post.

I have a 2005 (facelift) Pajero, and the plate fits fine, but it does touch the bumper platic near the recovery points. I think the bumper should be trimmed a bit to make it fit perfectly. I haven't trimmed mine yet, and it still works perfectly. Also, the front top edge touches the plastic (the bumper goes underneath the edge of the plate) - so I added a rubber strip.

The plate is great though - super strong! Weighs about 22kg.

Missed the mail for a while.
I am talking to Coenraad from Rasper Custom Fabrication ( http://www.rasper.co.za) about making a custom plate when we visit the city in Late December. They have some good ideas, specially in the airflow around the front.
Will try and see what can be done !

Your one piece plate seems the way to go, even strong enough to lift from !

I went and tried these Lynx Plates and they are great! I had the frontrunner plates ( 2 separate plates) on my previous Gen 3 and these are far superior in my opinion.

Hi, I have been following the discussion on bash plates and have just ordered one from Lynx 4x4 for my 2004 Shogun (or Pajero depending on which country you are in) I'm in the UK by the way. Over here there is hardly any off road equipment for a Shogun. There are loads of them (shogun/pajero) about but nobody seems to take the off road. Lynx tell me that if 5 people put in orders for them you can get a large discount, so if there any of you in SA are interested get together and give them a call. Will post another comment when the bash plate arrives and is fitted.

Welcome to the forum. While it is great that we get some exports from South Africa I would think that you would be able to source plates cheaper at a place like ASFIR which is a lot closer to ship. Have you tried them? I think there are a Land Rover fitment center that import Asfir plates to the UK who might be able to assist you.

Hi cats, thanks for the info, I've already ordered a bash plate from Leon at Lynx ( a very pleasant, helpful guy) but I do need more plates so I will look at ASFIR and see what they can offer.
