Blister - Auto Transmission Memory?
Hi all,
I've been told that the 1999 Blister Autobox do not have a driving style memory.

But listen to this and tell me what you guys think (especially the Owners of Blister 3.5 Auto models).

This morning I was at a busy robot crossing and when I decided to take the gap I floor the pedal to the metal but all I got was a slow moving tank with the revs not going much higher than 3500 before it changed to 2nd gear.

I stopped down the road on a straight and floored it again with the same result.
Then I flipped the "Power" switch (on the autobox) to on and tried it again. This time it pulled away like a jet and the revs went to just short of 6000.
So I stopped again and this time switched the Power switch to off again.
But this time I got very good pull-away and the revs going to 5000.
I tried it a few times and without fail it performed great.

Could it be that due to the fact that I've been driving like a "human being" for the last few days that it built up a memory which was cleared by the "Power" switch?

Thanks
Pierre

Re: Blister - Auto Transmission Memory?
Freshman,
I have a 99 Blister and I read somewhere that the box does store memory and especially after disconnecting the battery or even a flat battery.
I have made a error before with the power switch as it was in hold mode as I can not see the modes on my dash and will pull away in 2nd and thought something was wrong.
But pulling away in power mode I have not tried as I experienced the power mode to be effective only at higher revs like towing a heavy trailer and at an uphill situation or speaking under correction over 110km/h or around there.
maybe the power switch had something to do with reset- not sure

Re: Blister - Auto Transmission Memory?
I'm going to monitor it by driving relaxed for the next few days and then flooring it to see if it is "dead" again.
If it is, I'm going to flip the switch and see if that "resets" it.
Hope it does as it would be much easier than disconnecting the batt.
