180k km service cost
Hi,
What was your cost for the 180k km service on your diesel auto PJ and did it include extra stuff?
I received a very good estimate, far lower than expected, from a well known workshop and need to compare to be sure.

Hi,
In what area are you? If in the Johannesburg/Pretoria area give Mitspro a call.

Re: 180k km service cost
It is Mitspro who gave me the estimate, and I asked twice, but it seems low for the work to be done, R2800 for all oils and filters. I expected way more, considering that the gearbox oil alone will cost me R800 if I buy it myself.

Re: 180k km service cost
excluding my bashplate removal/refitting time, I'm confident I will be able to change engine oil filter, engine oil, gearbox oil, transfer and diff oils, air filter and diesel filter in under 90 minutes.

The mitspro guys might be even quicker.

The fluids you have to pay regardless so check the labour rate.

Of teh top of my head I remember the following prices

12 liter ATF - R800
10 liter delo 400 - R450
2.9l caltex easyshift for transfer case - R210
engine oil filter - R85
Air filter - R385
Diesel filter - R285
Front and rear diff oil - R???

So that price seems right provided they do all the fluids plus all the filters (except the A/T box filter which is overkill IMHO)

Re: 180k km service cost
In August 2011 I paid R2200 at Mitspro for the 180k service.
Inflation is hurting all of us!

Quote from Mitspro:

"Good day
An estimate on a 180 000km service:
Front and rear diff oils , auto box oils, transfer box oil,
All filters and engine oil R2987.51
No brakes or v belts quoted"

Which I would have accepted but it came in a tad late and I was already back home by then.
