Hello,
can someone enlighten me towards what changed during the Gen3 facelift and when this happened?
Neil.
I think it's from 2003/2004NeilTruter wrote:Hello,

Neil.
Most notable changes is
- blue info display in dash where pre facelift is black and white
- fog lights became round as to rectangular on pre facelift
- traction control got introduced
- rear brake lights changed to solid smooth lights
- rims changed
Thanx.
But now, I have a 2005 GLX, display is black/white and it doenst have traction control, is this due to the GLX model?
Also, it seems as if the facelift front bumper protrudes less from the car then the previous one, just my imagination ?
And the roofrails, when did this became standard?

Yes the black on white display and no TC is due to the GLX nomination. It was also the only gen3 which had standard black plastic bumpers and steel wheels. The 2003-2006 Glx also did not have front fogs as standard. This ia all on LWB as the SWB in gen3 was always just available in GLs spec.
Roofrails was standard from just after introduction but I think the first gen3's in 2000 did not have roofrails and neither did they have foglights in front.

Some additional facelift specs:
1) Six disc in dash shuttle
2) Sunroof
OOPS... scrap the six disc shuttle - I think my 2003 already had the shuttle.
Marius, that same 2003 already had the small round fog lights - needs to come off your list

I thoughts thats the biggest visual clue between pre and post facelift.RoelfleRoux wrote:Some additional facelift specs:

OK. My 2002 SWB GLS (pre-facelift) has the blue display and a sunroof.
OK,
Lets define "facelift" then:
I thought it came post 2003 when the 3.8V6 was introduced.
Gert,

There are many subtleties to this topic, but I think the common denominator is that the 2003 facelift brought new front and rear bumpers, a design change in the grille, front fog lamps (if fitted) and tail light clusters (both upper and lower).
My 2003 GLS DiD has the above, but also sports the rear diff lock (no ETC) and a full colour info screen. I have also seen facelift 3.5 GLSs that also have a rear diff lock. As far as I recall the 3.8 V6 was only launched after the facelift (around '04?).
