Hi Guys.
I have gen3 gls, and the standard size tyre is 265/65/17.
Now I have read on the forum that you can go up a 70 profile to get some more ground clearance. How much more are we talking about here?
Whenever you go off-road you deflate the tyre, so will the profile really give you more clearance? I am asking since there is a R1500 cost difference per tyre.
Any suggestions?
Hi,
The larger tyre size does make a difference, however it does have a few drawbacks as well, which is slightly higher fuel consumption and more specifically when towing or steep hills it will drop and changes gears a lot more than before. I would suggest considering spacers from Uys for around R2100. Which will give you around a 45mm lift.
Cheers
David
