Hi Gents, my gen2 SWB is due for new tyres. i want tobuy 5 tyres.
to those who dont know im in Mozambique and stuff here is VERY expensive. My plan is to travel to mpumalanga (komatipoort/malelane/nelspruit) I phoned a few places but the best i got was R2k per tyre. Im looking for tyres around R1500. Which ones do you recommend? they have to be 31x10.5x15
How good are the maxxis bravo MA761? http://www.tyretraders.co.za/index.php? ... re_id=4137
My truck spends 85% of the time on road or a little bit of gravel but im planning a tour to zimbabwe soon and some national wildlife parks here in Mozambique.
I had Maxxis on my gen2. Highly recommended. Great tyre!
dr3am3r,
I use Good Year Wrangler AT/SA, Very good grip, carbon reinforced sidewall and very quiet on the road on my Gen 2.5.
The price were good too. About six months ago paid R1380,00 a tyre from Hi Q as they are the biggest Good Year dealers.265/75/15. In my opinion a very good alrounder.
I saw in Zimbabwe nearly every second vehicle has them.

Thanks for this info, where is this dealer located? do you perhaps have contact information? being based in maputo its quite easy to go to nelspruit, malelane or komatipoort but secunda is a bit further down the road. Where in Nelspruit do you buy spares? im looking for 4 shocks, interior carpet, brake pads, thermostat, and to stock all the filters.paw_by_paw wrote:dr3am3r,

My CRAZY local Mitsu dealers (tecnica Industrial) quoted me a MASSIVE R17k for just 4 shocks, front and rear brake pads and 1x oil, air and diesel filter. Obviously i told them to stick it where the sun dont shine. we are being ripped off here in Moz. its either cough up or go the pirate parts route. which im definitely not willing to go.
Cheers
