Vick,

The S/C will reset itself at high speed - 120 if I recall correctly or when you turn off the ignition.

The button should also reset it, check your owner's manual for instructions. I think there is also a speed issue there, you have to be at a low speed to activate.
Re: Sand Driving
I found the S/C light goes off as soon as you do some sharp cornering. Ie. Differentiated wheel speeds. You also get this light on for a while after having disconnecting your battery.
After that I found the light to go off after the first corner at slow speed.

Bigwill,

This doesn't sound right. It should only reset itself at high speed or after turning off the ignition. Both those instances are safety driven.
Re: Sand Driving
I have just checked the handbook (page 5-45)again and confirmed that:
1. With the ASC switched off by the switch, ASC will go active again regardless of the switch possition once you exceed 120KPH.
2. At speeds above 40KPH switching off the switch will not deactivate ASC operation.
3. The ASC lamp will blink immediately after reconnection of the battery and ASC will be deactivated.
4. ASC will activate once you start driving after reconnection of the battery. No speed specified. My own experience is that it starts working after the first corner. So I assume same will happen when you switch back on manually under 40KPH.

Ahh... Things are starting to make sense. After I had spacers installed I was very worried that the ASC light stayed on even after pressing the button. But during installation they disconnected the battery for a while (had to reset the clock etc).

However, mine only came back on after going over 120km/H (I remember specifically since I was really relieved after driving on the highway for a few kms and seeing the light go off).
