My Pajero is still under the factory maintenance plan and I detected rust on the sunroof frame just before its last service. I alerted Ronnies Motors (East London) to the problem and ask them whether it can be fixed under the warrantee. To cut a long story short, I was told that the Pajero carries a 6 year rust warrantee, but not on "panels", which only carries a 1 year warrantee? I have e-mailed Mitsubishi SA to confirm whether this is actually the case, but so far no reply (albeit only 2 days). Are there any members who have had the same experience and a different outcome? The sunroof frame is clearly a problem and owners will always be left to pay the R8,000 to replace as it is unlikely that rust will form within the 1 year. Regards, Gert

I have had rust issues with Swambo's 2008 Pajero. (also an East London car, funny enough). I had rust on both rear doors but due to the fact that I only picked it up out of the 3 year warranty period, had to part pay for the repairs. I was seriously miffed as a car of that stature should not rust after 3 years.
