I am new to the Pajero world and am seeking advice of the wiser and more experienced
I recently bought a 2000 model, SWB, V6 3L, manual, Pajero with 242 000km. My sole reason for buying the vehicle was to go on a trip which needed a hardier car. Unfortunately 3 weeks after purchasing the vehicle it overheated and blew a gasket. The result of this was an engine overhaul or replacing the engine. I went with the latter, as it was cheaper and quicker. Especially since I had no intention of keeping the car long term.
The engine was a used Japanese import purchased my Mike's Place in Cape Town, with apparently 80 000km's. The engine was installed (at odometer reading - 244 000km) and we went on our trip with much success and happiness!
I am now ready to sell and am seeking pricing advice:
I paid R69 000 for the car which is book value, then
an additional R17 000 for the engine, then
an additional R9 000 for labour, smaller parts and DataDot.
The total cost of this car thus far is R95 000.
Over and above all the standard features, it has leather seats (well worn), Cooper Discoverer STT tyres, old EMEW shocks, Powerflow exhaust and a Lightning Audio amp & sub.
Obviously I would like to recoup some of the money put into the car but know I probably won't get the full 95k for it.
Please share any advice you may have and if you have any other questions, please ask!
Thanks All
