Hi all
So I went and played around in the mud this morning and whilst driving through a particularly muddy section about 70m long an alarm sound went off. The vehicle was in 4HLC. It started off as a beeping sound and then went into a continuos beeeep sound. It stopped as soon as I stopped the vehicle.
Just wondering what it is warning me about and if its serious?
Thanks in advance
PS. its a 2005 Pajero LWB petrol. The ASC was turned off.
What you are experiencing is normal Pajero Traction Control behaviour. Although ASC is off traction control is still on. You have had traction control activated for an extended period of time through the long mud run and consequently it reached a point where the brakes that are used for traction control got too hot. It first starts to beep which is like saying please back-off a little to allow brakes to cool down. When the sound continues it has disabled Traction Control automatically and you are left with an open diff only at the back and at the front. Once cooled down all is well again.

Just a note for anyone who experiences similar: the alarm does not come on at all now that I serviced my front brake calipers.
