Back seat VS drawers

I am thinking of removing my back seat of my SWB and installing drawers. Where can I get some pictures of how the drawers look and is it a big operation to do it

Hi tom. I have also wanted to the same for a while now but i need to build a drawer system I can remove quick and simple.. just for long trips i need the space.. Im out of the country now but as soon as I get back that will be my next DiY project. Will post photos.

Hi Tom,
I have a LWB and a simple aluminium drawer (and cupboard)system which I designed and had made up for me by MeasureCase.
When going camping I always remove the back seats which is simple & quick - just 6 easily accessable bolts and out they come.
A drawer system makes all the difference between camping comfortably and getting frustrated "krapping" for your goods.

Dave is it possible to post a picture an do they only fabricate by their own design ?
And if possible what is the cost more or less.

Hello - I also have a shorty and want to do a drawer system for it. I have already done the design... now I just need to source the materials.

Mine is exactly how I want it - with special thought on my camping fridge and making it accessible both inside and outside the vehicle.

I am in the process of designing a drawer system for my LWB. I am going to use Connect-It materials: 25x25mm aluminium tubing and the connectors. I have seen a lot of guys have used this on the 4x4community website (do a quick search) with great success. I am making mine with a slide for the coleman/fridges and two drawers on top of each other next to the slide. the height will be about the height of the rear parcel cover so that I cam pack bulky items on top. I will cover the frame with 6mm plywood and carpeting once done. this project will only happen later in the year if I decide to go ahead.

Hi Kurt,

Not sure what others think and it depends on unsupported lengths and how much you plan to load (those occasional pockets of cement...), but 6mm ply may be a bit min. Even with 10mm marine ply I get some flexing - but it is acceptable.

I'm also looking at the connect-its and square tubing. Slide for the fridge and drawers capable of housing 3 ammo cases below the fridge. Thought of using aluminum vastrap plate for finishing (the mat one not the super bling stuff).

This is fairly easy building with pop rivets holding it all together - no welding required.

Hello Tom,
Sorry for the delay - I have been away.
My drawer system which comprises two long drawers, the depth measured to take two cans of beer one on top of the other, and one slimmer drawer for my tools. Measurecase made it to my specifications. This actually sits on top of a wooden drawer that I built to take all the cutlery, crockery, etc. (i.e. the kitchen).
I am putting it all together in the next day or two for an upcoming trip and will send you a photo when done.
