Wanli tyres
Who knows anything about these tyres.

I can a 31x10.5xR15 for R1099 tyre. They have EXACTLY the same tread as I have on my Pajero now with the yokohama super diggers, and I am very happy with them.

R1099 a tyre gentleman..

I'm thinking of taking a chance here

Re: Wanli tyres
I have been doing some research, and I can't seem to find any reviews of the AT tyres. I take a lot of stock from the US and AUS offroad forums and I have seen very litte mention of these.

On this basis I would be loathe to put my life in the hands of an unkown tyre brand.

Also don't put too much emphasis on the tread pattern... the chinese are famous for copying things, and grip has a lot to do with the rubber compound. If it was me .. sorry, no.

But then you can take the chance and we can learn

Andre, you have your family to think about.

Just drop the Wan Li tyres, turn around and walk away. Just remember, you get what you pay for. :(

I have found no off-road reviews yet, but the so-called performance tyres have soft side walls, not much grip and are very noisy. I can't see the off-road tyres being much better. ;)

That's my two cents.

Thanx for the input gents.

Am deciding between the hankooks and the bf's. the bfs lekke thick sidewalls and hankkok not so lekka thick. But I also have a budget(dammit :( )

the hankooks have some good reviews and I can get a set for R1235 each.

And since I do more mileage on the raod than off, at R2000 a set less I think they're going on this weekend.

And at least I test on the 6th

Re: Wanli tyres
The tick sidewall on the BFG's is one of the gripes against them in the sand...

Anyway, one argument I hear over and over again on the BFG's and Coopers etc etc is their great tyre life... Yeah, maybe so but as soon as you start looking at the rands and cents, these tyres don't look so clever.

Assume the following:
Hankooks at R1200 (what I paid)
BFG's at R1800 (cheapest quote I got)

Assume BFG tyre life at 80000km or so (that's what I got although I could perhaps have done another 10000-15000)
Assume Hankooks are perhaps 60000km (I have heard reports of 60000 MILES on Hankook but lets use 60000km for this exercise

Now, you end up with:
BFG's costing 9c/km (1800*4/80000)
Hankooks 8c/km (1200*4/60000)

Not much difference, is there?

If you look at in those terms, assuming no immediate cashflow concerns, it really boils down to personal preference.

Re: Wanli tyres
Andre, depends on where you are but at ATT (Auto truck & tyre) in wadeville germiston I found BF's (I think 245) for R950ea.
Give me your sizes then I'll go visit them, they just around the corner from us.
