Cruise Control
Good day everyone.

I joined at the beginning of February 2014 when I purchased a 2nd hand 2006 3.2D-iD SWB Pajero. This has been a long time dream came true and I am in 7th heaven.

The vehicle has 304 000Km on the clock. when I took it for roadworthy testing, the officials told me that the vehicle is in a better condition than many new cars being tested, so I'm chuffed. I paid R80 000 on a private sale and think it was the best deal that I have made in the last 20 years.

As part of the deal I also got a complete set of 4 Pajero mags with Hancook tires. The vehicle is already fitted with another set of mags and brand new all terrain Hancook tires. (bit noisy but love the sound)

I immediately joined the Pajero Club and have read every posting with excitement, especially the postings of the Kgalagadi transfrontier National Park a few weeks ago.

There is one issue tough, and hope that someone can help me. when I purchased the vehicle, the cruise control worked fine. after a week or so the cruise control only switched on after pressing the "on" lever button a few times. now it only switches on when the vehicle is started, but does not engage or switch off after I start driving.

I read the manual but could not find the problem. Someone told me that it might be a solenoid valve, but I would not know where to start looking.

I would appreciate help.

Kind regards

Re: Cruise Control
Sounds like you got a great deal.

Welcome to the forum.

One possibility is the clockspring. They are known to give up occasionally. Does your hooter work consistently? (It is also connected via the clockspring). Not that that in itself will allow you to eliminate this possibility.
Re: Cruise Control
Hi,

I bought a 2003 SWB 3.2 DiD Pajero in December and is has the same problem. I took it to my auto electric guy and he says that when he tried to test the unit he got no response from it.

Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong, I believe that the Cruise Control unit is very expensive to replace.

Many thanks
