Mitsubishi Sandton
Does anyone know how to get in touch with the previous owners of Mitsubishi Motors Sandton. Apparently the dealership changed ownership recently and all vehicle service history up to that point left on a computer with the previous owner.

Surely this info is kept somewhere else as well and not just at that particular dealership? What happens in case of a warrantee situation, surely it is kept centrally somewhere.

The reason I am asking is I recently bought a '98 blister which has been duly serviced every 10 000 at that dealership since 19 August 2004 when the vehicle went for its 120000 km service. It would be nice to know when the belt services, especially the last one was done.

Contact numbers anyone?
Re: Mitsubishi Sandton
Interesting.... I was told their server crashed......

I wish you luck, as Mitsubishi Sandton will not see me again, ever.....
Re: Mitsubishi Sandton
So I'm here getting my new spare key coded and asked the Service Advisor about the data. He says that Sandown Motors took the computers and wiped them clean, Imperial put in new computers when they came in. The data that they lost was only the data of cash customers for services/repairs out of warranty/maintenance plan. It's utterly pathetic that the data wasn't archived by Sandown/Imperial IT boffins during the handover

Re: Mitsubishi Sandton
Thank you for the info. So basically the most loyal customer was the first casualty when the dealership was sold. I guess they only really worry about being able to claim the big bucks and steady cash flow from Mitsubishi for servicing vehicles under the maintenance plan or fixing it under warrantee.

Do not single that dealership out though; I think the industry is like that in general. But yes, to forget or not to insist on the transfer of service history / dealership history when purchasing a franchise.... eish! (Egg on face smilie required here)

But enough bietsieng, it does not solve problems. Without knowing when the last belt service was I need to service the beast. BIG problem is that I have been trying to get hold of the spares required for the cambelt service for two weeks now without success.

I have quotes from a Mitsubishi dealership but the quote contains more comments of NS (No Stock) and BO (Back Order) than it does items. I also cannot seem to get a good supplier who stocks a proper range of aftermarket parts for the Pajero.

I have asked in another post in this forum without success but I will keep trying. If someone could give me numbers of spares shops in Gauteng where they are always able to get Pajero parts I would appreciate it.

Cheers!

Re: Mitsubishi Sandton
That sounds sad, as for over 16 years I've had excellent spares service from Alfred Ramatapa, and that's for my Mk1.
Re: Mitsubishi Sandton
Yes, Imperial is killing the brand. Seems the only stock they carry are service items. Everything else is "It will be here in 6 weeks or so" Sad state of affairs.

Re: Mitsubishi Sandton
Okay so all good. They did everything they said they would at the price they quoted. Over and above that they tightened my handbrake, checked my brakes and used the Delo I gave them. They didn't even try charge me for the removal of the stoffpad bashplate (unlike Maritime Motors PE). So i am happy with the service from them.

Oh yes, the total service charge came down by R475 because I supplied the oil.
