Hi Guys,
I bought a 2009 Pajero that has these air helpers or suspension or what ever you call it.
I'm looking for a manual or if some one can just tell me how it works.
Please help.

Probably Firestone air helpers supplied by The Air Spring Supply Company.
Here is a link: http://www.assc.co.za/
They are sealed "bags" that sit inside the rear coil springs. As you inflate them they basically change the spring rate of the coil springs, reducing rear-end sag under load.
You can either connect them together with one inflation point (a valve like a tyre valve) or keep them separate and bring two inflation points out. The inflation points connect to the air spring via pneumatic tubing.
There are some minimum and maximum pressures applicable - the minimum is to stop the airspring getting pinched between the coils of the coil spring and the maximum to prevent the airspring bursting. Something like 0.35 bar min and 2.5 bar max.

Thanks Andrew,
I was on that site but couldn't get anything on the pressures. I have 2 valves in my rear bumper that I figured must be for left and right.
But I was unsure of the pressures it must be.

Hi Nismo,
I paid the deposit this morning to have mine installed. I'll post as much info as possible as soon as it is done.

Andrew, there is not much you can do to them once installed other than to inflate/deflate. I prefer the two units to be coupled therefore it gives you a balanced pressure. Make sure you always have some pressure in them (as was said in an earlier mail). I run mine at Min 0.5 bar. You can pump them up to 2,5bar (or less) pending the load you are carrying.
Chris
As stated by Chris. They must be a minimum pressure of 0.5Bar when running unladen and a max of 2.5Bar
With my Pajero fully laden and with my Xplorer hooked on the rear i ran a pressure of 2.0Bar and this gave me a good solid ride.
Never drive with a high pressure when unladen as handling issues can occur.
Never drop the pressure to below 0.5Bar as this will damage the helper.
There are 2 different colours of bags , red and blue, both opperate the same and the pressures in both are similar

In my first Pajero I had two inflation points. In the next one I opted for one inflation point (to keep the airbags equally inflated). The problem with one inflation point is that, if you do spring a leak, you can't tell which airbag is responsible!

Thanks! This answers my question

Hi Nismo, I hope you can read the fine print? I think it is important.
