Just a general question regarding engine noise - from about 110kph to 125kph (speedo reading), I find there is quite a bit of engine noise (drone)that comes into the passenger compartment, before 110 and after 125kph the car is very quiet. Must I just live with this or is there a solution? Just by the by, the speedo seriously over reads per my GPS by about 8-10 kph.
Depends on the year model as the later ones have better sound insulation but yes some drone of the somewhat old tech engine do make it into the cabin. I think the monocoque chassis also unfortunately transports any noise too easily as well.

I only have my 2012 PS 3.2 for about a month now and have not done much open road driving. I did however pick up the droning sound on the bit of highway driving. I will have to do a trial to see from what speed it starts. No monocoque chassis on the Pajero Sport so that can not be a factor.
Somewhere else on the forum was a discussion on unbalanced propshafts that caused a vibration and noise at spesific speeds. Maybe worth it to have it checked if you feel the noise is excessive.

Thank you for replies - dont have vibration, just the engine noise.
Is your rear exhaust silencer, along with the tail pipe, a standard fitment item? I had problems with droning on mine a few years back that was traced to my(ahem
) modifications.
