Talk about resuscitating an old thread!
I have the same towbar as Andre Eksteen, but it seems to have have a longer horizontal member between the main structural tube and the towball. This effective destroys the improved departure angle that Mitsu so carefully engineered into the Gen4.
I have tried without success to remove the detachable bit to see if there is a shorter configuration possible. I took out the pin and the two M10? bolts, as well as the knurled knob at the bottom ... but absolutely no amount of persuasion could get it unstuck.
Should I heat up the outer tube and try to knock it out or am I missing something here?
