I've had quite a few good trips in the Pajero over the last few months.
It is a awesome vehicle and an amazing 4x4, I completed a few Advanced offroad 4x4 courses aswell and was able to take the Pajero through some challenging terrain that allot of other vehicles had trouble completing.
I have also noticed that the harder I drive the Pajero the more fuel it uses...who would have thunkit!...the way I was previously driving her, was basically, flat out constantly with MT tires, rooftent, and raised suspension...I was getting 500km on a tank....I have adjusted my driving style to one of a more chiiled out vibe and I am now getting 700km on a tank....crazy !!!
Question?....the vents in the back of the Pajero...the ones obove the side windows....how the @#$% do you get air to come out of there !!!! seriously !!!!

Your vehicle has a split AC system, with a separate heating and cooling circuit for the rear passenger area. There is a rocker switch just in front of the gear lever, next to the rear diff lock/TC button. This activates the rear HVAC controls situated behind the centre console arm rest, between the front seats.
It isn't a climate control system but you can switch the AC on and off and use 3 fan speed settings, this also blows through vents into the jumper seat area in the rear of the Pajero.
This only if you have a LWB, as the SWB doesn't have this feature. .

A "chilled out vibe" rewards more than just better tank range, but I'm sure you and your passengers have figured that one out by now.
Yes, Pajero capability in the ruffstuff is very underrated.
There should be fan speed and temp controls for those vents on the back panel of the console between the front seats.

Eish Guys....let be a bit more specific as you both now think i'm and idiot...hahahaha....I know where and how to switch on the rear aircon, but for the life of me I can not get the air to blow out the top vents, only the rear and feet areas...???
Then the vents are either blocked (unlikely that all the ducts will be blocked) or a connection in the ducting is missing.
Has this been the case since getting the car, or did they just stop working?

I fully agree with Roelf. If no air is coming out of the top vents they must have been disconnected. The only way of checking will be to take the right hand trim panel out and follow the ducting to the roof - the roof liner will also have to be removed or bent down at the back - be very careful it is going to break.
