PS 2.5 Cooling Fan
Hi there, I've noticed my cooling fan on my 2.5 PS kicks in quite a lot - sorry that's not much of a technical description - but I often hear it even after just driving the car for a few minutes.

Does anyone know if this is common for the vehicle - if not what should I look for?
Re: PS 2.5 Cooling Fan
Would that be with the aircon off??
Re: PS 2.5 Cooling Fan
Let me re-phrase:
I would have thought the Sport to have a mechanical fan and the electric fan for the aircon

Re: PS 2.5 Cooling Fan
When I still had my 2009 triton 2.5 4x2 (100kw) the cooling fan noise was one of the few things that annoyed me about it. My 3.2 pajsport was much better, but my 2013 2.5 pajsport has the least amount of cooling fan noise of the lot  I do know two other pjs owners who are (like me...suffering from poor consumption and terrible turbo lag) but have never mentioned high cooling fan noise, so no, I don't believe your example is representative of the breed. Get the entire cooling system checked up - that fan is obviously trying to compensate for something.
Re: PS 2.5 Cooling Fan
Would that be the mechanical fan being noisy when the viscose clutch locks up?

Hi Roelf - you are going into the realms of the unknown with me.

It's the large fan In front of the radiator ?

Hi Preyalin - I see you get around a bit - nice to see.

It's not that it's overly noisy it's just that I'm conscious I hear it working at most times when I'm standing still and as I mentioned even if I haven't driven very far from a cold start. So was just trying to understand if it is normal for the new 2.5 's?

I think in my next service I'll get them to check it out - cheers
Re: PS 2.5 Cooling Fan
Michael, on my Pajero that one only operates when the aircon is on.
