Hi Kevin, We have a 2001 Gen3 PAJ LWB 3.5lt petrol, achieving 11.6 Lt/100Km (8.6Km/Lt) over a 3800Km trip. My average speed is 105Km hr ie. driving at speeds of between 85km and 120Km/hr depending on traffic.
To achieve your stated average of 130Km/hr you would have to continuously drive at between 115km/h and 145km/hr which would be very difficult and unsafe to maintain.
Perhaps you mean that you occasionally drive at 130Km/hr?
Good luck with a lighter right foot and reduced fuel consumption.
Regards,
Chris M.

About the rock sliders, Stofpad makes for the Gen 4 at R6 900 on the price list I got last year, so that's one idea of price. I had some made for my Colt a few years ago by a general steelwork place (my design, they bent the pipes, welded and made sure they would fit, I then painted and fitted), those cost R3 000 in total.
I bought my My Gen 3 with sliders made by Maniac in Cape Town http://maniac4x4.co.za/ Not sure what they cost. You can see from the pics that the wheel arch mouldings needed to be trimmed. They could probably have been made shorter to avoid that. They attach to the same points that the running boards do.

Hi Kevino
Regarding the fuel consumption, apart from the high speed a RTT would have had a huge effect. How else is the vehicle modified ? Larger tyres, Roofrack with spare, jerry cans etc. They will all take their toll.
As rvanhys says Stofpad makes good looking robust rocksliders. I have not yet bought but he sent me photos and says the late Gen 3 will take the same bars as the Gen 4. He is in Gauteng. Good luck
