Immobilizer/Alarm on 2010 SWB 3.2 DID GLS
Hi to All,
I'm new to the "Pajero Owners Club" and recently purchased a 2010 SWB 3.2 DiD GLS. My previous 4X4's were a Hilux D/C and recently Defender Puma 90. Regarding the Pajero - I am a bit confused as I get conflicting answers from the Dealers? Does the vehicle have an Immobilizer/Alarm? There is a small light on the front of the dash below the windshield. This light never blinks, which would normally indicate that the Immobilizer/Alarm is active? The fuel tank capacity is given as 69 litres? When filling up the tank I have never come close to 69 litres - On the first click only about 52 litres max? I really think this is a great vehicle, since driving the Defender - the fuel consumption is however not the greatest. Thanks & regards
John

I believe it comes standard with imobiliser, not alarm.

Possibly the led bulb you are revering to is the sensor to determine light and heat inside the cabin to adjust the climate control setting accordingly. Thus not linked to the imobiliser. Can you possibly post a photo?

SWB fuel consumption and tank I dont know but you should get a whole lot more in if you go past the first click. Do you determine consumption using actual mileage and fuel put in per tank or per the onboard computer?

Thank you Cats - your comments are very valid. The consumption is the mileage covered, full tank to full tank on first click. Much appreciated. Regards

Hi John,

Welcome to the group.

Paj SWBs are amazing vehicles. I've recently changed to a LWB to accommodate a growing family, but still miss my SWB.

The DIDs seem to have quite large "reserve" capacities - I think to try prevent one from running out of fuel as this is a no-no on the diesels. My SWB fuel light would come on and I'd still have 12-15 litres in the tank.

Consumption - it depends how you drive. The SWB is a quick vehicle (for it's size), but I used to nurse mine and easily got 10.5L / 100km.

Enjoy.

On my 3.2 2008 LWB when I fill up just after the light comes on and stop at the "first click" I get 74liters. This means there is a theoretical 14liters reserve on the 88lt tank.
