I have just received an email from Mitsu Pinetown (where they shared the facility with Jeep and Mercedes)to say that they are moving out and joining forces with Mitsu Umhlanga.
I guess I got the email because I have taken my 2006 Gen 3 to them for servicing over the last 2,5 years. Not being very happy with the way they have performed, I decided to take it to Umhlanga for its last service in Dec. Again I was not impressed and decided that supporting the dealers has come to an end.
I begrudge being charged R500 for them to connect a laptop to try identify a possible problem when it is already in for a normal service anyway.
Contact Haydn and take it to him. He services and does everything on mine and many others around. He is really knowledgeable on pajero. He is in pmb though bit is really worth going to. His contact number is 0828213040

Thanks Allan
I know of Haydn so a trip to Pmb is probably on the charts come next service time.

He has just finished a service on my car this week. Every time my car goes there and I get it back t seems like I get given a while new car. He is very good and really gives a lot for what we pay for. It is the only person that will work on my pajero

Have had a number of SMSs lately from Mitsu Pinetown telling me that my vehicle is booked in for service tomorrow - all of which are untrue!
Naively went into Pinetown dealer today looking for some help - go referred to Umhlanga & given a one page document saying they are closing on 20 Feb. From the service that I got I'll be happy to drive to Pietermaritzburg, can't face the prospect of the traffic at the Umhlanga N2 interchange.

My dealings with the Dealer Principle at Pinetown have been unpleasant. I find her very snooty. Maybe its because they have to share the location with Mercedes and Jeep.
She is not going to like Umhalanga, it seems they share the workshop with GWM.

Maybe this post is already a bit long in the tooth but I want to add my ten cents worth. Maybe everything is not relevant to this forum. Hopefully the move to Umhlanga for Pajero service would be an improvement as I had a history of incompetency from Pinetown dealership wrt Mercedes Benz. When Ma wanted to get a new car I begged her to PLEASE not get another Bethlehem Star, so se got a Pajero instead. The very first service was once again a problem. A couple days after the service I checked the oil level and it was over filled by 100%. Contacted the dealership and was advised to bring the vehicle in. Dropped in and asked them to check the oil level but unfortunately they were to busy to bother, have to book it in. I demanded that the collect and sort it out, obvious I get the middle finger. I resorted to contact the technical director and then there was action.
I hope the Pajero live up to expectation . So far I love it
