Chances are you will have no problems. If some problem does arise it will be something that should have been done and was not (mechanic neglect), or something that was done and should not (mechanic abuse).
From Experience I would add to above in order of priority on Gen3:
1) Oil filter. It appears that the sealing process seems to continue to be a problem causing oil filters to start to leak on the seam only a while after being in service. Take a spare oil filter.
2) Leaking oil pressure switch is a known problem. I would fit a new one and keep the old one. It is a terrible job on a hot engine and is best done with filter removed.
3) At the very least actually remove the fan belts and physically check / bend & look for cracks and flaws. If good give a good spray with silicone spray to stop them drying out. Replace if necessary.
4) Fuel filter water trap can crack when replaced last (abused by mechanic) and only leak later.
5) Make sure your radiator is clean. If you look down and can see the tell tail thin hairs sticking out the core, those are grass seeds and if enough can cause a problem. Remove and clean. Do not use pressure washer or air pressure. Hold empty radiator flat in both hands, engine side down and drop it 6 inches / hit it down onto swimming pool surface. Check the pool surface - full of grass seeds? Fill with fresh Mits premixed Antifreeze.
6) Check engine mounting bolts (they sometimes come loose).
7) Check ATF and take a spare litre.

We travelled 150.000 km with our previous pajero, we had one ome shock broken and some rubber boots cutted, due to own stupidity.

There are some square fuses build in that we needed, because of bad roads we had one electric failure.

Otherwise all was OK.

I presume the Namib roads are still speed bump free, here in East Africa the bumps are countless! We always have to carry spare brake pads everywhere. Also despite luckily never needing it I also carry some sort of radiator stop leak.

I nearly forgot !!!! You need a flat piece of material preferably steel or aluminium metal plate +- 300mm x 300mm x 4mm or 5 mm. If you get a flat chances are where you stop to change the tyre, the ground is going to be soft. You can use wood but it must be thick enough to be able to take the weight..... and then you can't also cook your steak on a piece of wood  (I have used a steak plate before).

+1. Don't look at the tyre condition now, try and imagine them after 5000 km of gravel and shale roads.
