Hi guys,
URGENT - I NEED YOUR OPINION BEFORE THIS WEEKEND!!!
I need your opinion on trading my Gen 3 2004 3.8 GLS with 150 000km for a newer model Gen 4 2007 3.2 GLS with 143 000km on the clock
I had a look and this Pajero is in excellent condition. The outside is about in 99% condition and the interior in about the same. Rockford system. As far as I could see, no modifications at all. Service booklet and all the other books available. Services are p to date. The appy salesman said that I can only go for a test drive tomorrow when the owner is in office - fair enough. The drive selectors and indicators work 100% but needs to be tested on the road. The battery seems new.
My Pajero is in 100% working condition but it has been in all our neighboring countries in the bush and carries the proof there off on the outside.
HEIP I need opinions

Why?
I suppose if price is good then can make sense, but I think you gonna miss the gas guzzler. Those engines are great.
Amyway. I did the change from gen3 to gen4, so who am I to ask why?

Cloyd,
The drop in consumption is not to be ignored.
Make sure you take it on a dirt road before pulling the trigger. A Gen 4 can be quite rattly in the dash and trim department.

There's a R750 fix available in Bloem or Joburg for this particular problemRoelf_le_Roux wrote: Make sure you take it on a dirt road before pulling the trigger. A Gen 4 can be quite rattly in the dash and trim department.

Roelf and Cats,
Yes, there is nothing in this world that can beat experience!!! Thanks for your speedy replies.
I took it for a test drive and across the Magaliesburg via Voortrekker ave. Going up that hill and putting foot - eish - only more noise and nothing else. I wonder what would happen with the Desert Wolf in tow? In spite of the trade trick of riding with low tire pressures, the rattles are there and the engine joining in!!!.
So, to summarize: To trade my Pajero for xenon headlights, a Rockford sound system, slightly better paintwork and the so called diesel economy and reduction in performance?? I will need an extra hole in my head to convince me. I WILL pay in fuel for my plesure.
