Engine sounds
Hi all. I own a 2008 3.2DID Lwb. Absolutaly fantastic vehicle !Done almost 200 000km with only having to service and change tyres. Wow! But now all of a sudden it started develop
what I can only describe as a "wawa " sound that comes and goes. It has become more frequent and this morning when it started, it went into limp mode. There is no hesitation when revving, but the sound periodically came and went during normal driving. No lack of power but then again, I did not really push it when the sound became audible.
Pls help. Looking for some solid advice pls. Thanking you in advance

Very difficult to determine from your sound description. But if it went into limp mode I asume it threw a CEL so there must be a fault code registered.

Can you read the fault code? If you are in Centurion area I can help you to read it with my Bluetooth OBDII reader with that.

Getting the fault code might throw some light onto the matter.

Re: Engine sounds
If you don't have an engine fault code, then dry/worn bearings in the alternator can produce a very audible sound. Press a wooden stick on the alternator body and the other end at your ear, works like a stethoscope and you'll hear roughness if it's there.
