Re: Brandstof verbruik van Pajero`s
Peter,
I filled up in town this morning, set the various paremeters in the OBC to Zero and set off to work. This is my avg consumption reading as I pulled up at our main gate.

Re: Brandstof verbruik van Pajero`s
As mentioned, the motive for my post was simply because I believe these Gen 4-1 motors can do better than what they are doing at present.

The figure I was getting was from OT air port to home. ie Over +- 25 km maybe a bit more. But this was at one specific speed / load. It takes some doing finding and then just maintaining the correct combination. I set the km / L readout and then watched to see where I got the best results and then maintained that. Travelling in slow lane (nobody else uses it), the very very lightest of throttle (about the first 10mm), do not accelerate or decelerate, time lane changes / overtaking, etc. It gets your driving skills and discipline going again.

I am looking forward to doing a long trip like that and then comparing the actual consumption to the indicated / computer readout. Problem is it takes one and a half times as long, to cover the same distance, so you need the time (and preferably no passengers - they just ruin the concentration!).

I have enough money to retire and live comfortably for the rest of my life.....if I die by next Tuesday....

Baie dankie

Re: Brandstof verbruik van Pajero`s
Good Morning,

I currently drive a Pajero Sport 3.2 Automatic, and achieved an average fuel consumption of 11.4 l /100 km.
A week ago I fitted a Dastek Unichip but found that it made no difference to my fuel consumption, has anyone else had the same done? Does the fuel consumption a\only improve after some mileage is done with the chip?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Emile
Re: Brandstof verbruik van Pajero`s
Emile some chips have a learning function but I believe your chip is not that type and the only improvement will be from your driving style. These Gen4 motors are not as economical as I would have expected. Sadly the older technology Gen3 was more economical and or more powerful (my experience). So what I believe at this stage is that it will not get any better besides changing your driving style. We had all hoped to have a dyno day in Alberton in pursuit of improving fuel consumption (and performance) but that did not materialise.

Re: Brandstof verbruik van Pajero`s
Hi all. New to the forum but very much interested in this topic since I got my demo ps shogun being promised by the dealer that 8l/100km is very achievable. I have however only once ever got close to that figure...8.4l/100km to be exact on a drive to the bottom of the freestate. Ever since then my avg is 10.2l/100km and that has been very very concervative driving.
