So my other half was involved in an accident with my new Pajero Exceed.
Damage to replace are two doors on the left, all the airbags on that side etc.
Waiting time for these from Japan is 4 weeks optimistically. Don't know about the customs portion though.
No spares levels in our dear country.
For a vehicle that has not been updated for yeaaarrs.
Really franchise holders - you suck.
Accidents do happen you know.

It is a major concern in South Africa. It seems like the moment Mitsubishi joined the multi franchise group spare parts are not as easy available as before. It is not only us complaining. I drive two Pajero's. Excellent vehicles, but up to sh*t after sales service. Believe me, I have tried them all. Some of my friends driving Pajero's is now thinking of selling and buying Toyota! How can we change the situation?
Guys, dont think its only Mitsu that is getting hit by spares issues.I know of guys that have waited for GM and VW parts too and I mean most of these are built locally.
One thing i have noticed is no one on top cares, only when sales are bad will they start asking question, otherwise they dont give a rats arse.
Same as companies like dominos pizza, steers etc. They are ripping us all off and only care about profit, not customers.
maybe its really time we all sign a petition and forward it to Mitsu..If they then dont react we know what to do.

I will never get that desperate.
I drove in a trailblazer the weekend and nothing wrong with it.feels a bit plastic, has the odd rattle but the 2.5 we drove was quite quiet and pulled good enough. The car just however has no feel to it,it has no soul.If that makes sense

I want to challenge Mitsubishi not to honour warranties when somebody uses non-franchise parts due to a total lack of responsibility towards the consumer from their side.
Is there an ombudsman one can approach regarding this situation?

There is the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa: info@miosa.co.zaREAList wrote:I want to challenge Mitsubishi not to honour warranties when somebody uses non-franchise parts due to a total lack of responsibility towards the consumer from their side.

Ok, its official.
The new promised dates for the spares to fix the pajero is the 29 September.
Apparently they have to strip it off the assembly line. Go figure.
Fortunately it is still driveable.
A word of advice to Pajero owners is to extend your insurance hire car to at least 3 months. If you only have one vehicle it might just be necessary.
At my age convenience is more important than brand loyalty.
Will they ever understand this concept?
But speaking to the panelbeater owner spares availibility is really a problem. For him the concern is about not putting out enough repaired vehicles. A serious issue! He will not take the spares unless the order is 100% Thus a ripple effect is created down the line.

For years, I have purchased my spares from from Imperial Mitsubishi Sandton, and was well pleased with their service.
After their relocation, I was given an email address >luckym@mekor.co.za<. A number of attempts to make contact have failed, can anyone put me on the correct track.
