Hi all, I have a 2008 3dr 3.2 diesel Pajero, the problem I have is when I turn on the headlamps after about 2min it goes off, if I turn the switch off and on again it comes on and agin after 2min it just goes off, I took it to the dealership they say the ballist under the headlamp needs replacing, however the price is around 13k, it's crazy can anyone advise a way forward.

Hope it's not the ballistic cause that is ouch.
I had the same issue on my half white, replaced the 'globes' and no problem since.
You need to shop around for globes as the prices vary dramatically with the prices starting at R1100 for generic to over 5 for set premium globes. Our local spares shop got me a pair of branded one for R1400.
The part number for mine was a 35W D2S.
