High cycle batteries are not that finicky - you can even charge them with an alternator!
Alternators seem to have a problem charging a Deep Cycle to 100%, though.
Just to throw a spanner in the works here and make it an unbiased opinion. I have used C-Tek chargers now for a couple of years and can testify that they are AMAZING!
I have however ,managed to fry one, maybe factory fault who knows, but it was replaced without question and delay and has worked like a charm ever since for the last few years. So after sales service has also been top notch.
The C-Tek is definately one of the best and was available, in SA at least, before the Benton ones. Not trying to knock Benton, just saying that C-Tek is not to be left out in the cold. Mine has served me well, so there are some personal feedback for you.

I have only heard good things about the C-Tek as well as their after sales support. I just could not justify the amount of money to spend on a C-Tek compare to a Benton.
