Hi Guys,
Just an update on my experience today.
Spoke to the local dealership (Imperial Mitsubishi Kuilsrivier) today at 14:30 and was told to bring my vehicle in at any time since they have stock of the required part.
Arrived there at 14:45 and they immediately start with the work to replaced the faulty component on the DRIVER'S SIDE" airbag. This work entails the disconnecting of the positive pole on the battery, removing the centre piece of the steering wheel, removing the airbag actuator and replacing it with a new one from a sealed package.
After re-assembling the steering wheel and re-connecting the battery, plugged in the diagnostic plug connected to laptop, scanned all the systems to check functionality, reset all the display functions on the on-board display (even the pre-set channels on the radio) and within 15minutes all was done.
These guys are the best team as I so often testify.

I received my email from Mitsu yesterday-driver side airbag must be replaced- booked in for Wednesday at Centurion Mitsubishi

I'm still waiting for Mekor Rivonia to call me back. The lady I spoke to didn't sound too knowledgeable so I'm not holding my breath. I will phone another branch tomorrow

I typed in my VIN number and recieved an automated reply stating that my car is not affected. To get the feedback I had to fill in some personal details and today I get a mail from the AMHgroup on behalf of Mitsubushi SA stating I must make arrangements to book my car in for the Driver Sid Airbag.

I have replied to the email asking for verification.

Did the search, gave the info, got automated message, booked vehicle in for today at Centurion (I had to request the visual check - I am full of .....), shuttle service, so far so good.

Ok so I arrived and collected my vehicle on schedule. A nice pleasant professional experience.

I had been meaning to reset the airbag light after removing the drivers seat and activating the warning light by switching ignition on while airbag was disconnected. They kindly reset this for me.
