Dear Pajero Owners.
I bought a second hand Pajero 3.2 DiD automatic (sorry Pre-Used I should say...) a few months ago, and so far things are moving well without problems.
This is the car I intent to use to pull my small caravan and start enjoying my retirement as I am now "only" 68.
I had a Pajero 2.4 for about 10 years and it was a fantastic 4x4 that took me many times into "difficult" places in the Mozanbican coast, and always smiling. I then decided that I would stay with Pajeros.
This 3.2 DiD that I am driving now, goes well BUT, every time I start the engine, (when cold or hot) it cranks the engine three OR four times before it starts. I spoke to a mechanic, and was told that the problem it might be the diesel filter not keeping enough pressure on the line, (to the injectors).
Before I send a car to have the filter replaced and checked, (the car was serviced just before I bough it) I would appreciate very much if any one could be kind enough to tell me what this can be. Thank you and best regards.
Carlos
What year model is your Pajero?
Maybe compare with another similar Pajero?

This is ussualy a sign that the battery is on its way out. To swing that big 4 pot diesel takes a lot of amps which a sick battery cannot deliver.
It could however also be a starter motor but I would start with the easy stuff. Have the battery checked out.
Also are you sure it is slow to start. The Pajero ussualy does a full engine revolution before it starts, ie it will go past cylinder 1,2,3 and catch on 4. If you get what I am trying to say.
