Fielies, I think you are not going to find a steel rim with the correct offset for the iO (46mm), so your tread width will increase (wheels might protrude from wheel arches). This will increase the load on the wheel bearings and on the independant front suspension, but might help larger tyres to clear when steering.
The iO has five wheel studs on a PCD of 114.3mm as far as I know, so as long as you get a steel rim with a compatible hole pattern and the right wheel nuts, you should be able to fit the rims.

Thanks for the feedback, the reason I ask and like your response on my other tyre post is that the 16'' tyres is very expensive and finding a off road tyre in that size is a nightmare.

Fielies, do they have 5 holes on a 114.3mm PCD? If so, then you will be able to bolt them to your iO, but they will make the tyres run 46mm further outboard each side. This might look weird (some like the look 
) and it will probably increase the loads on your wheel bearings.
These rims will also reduce your front ride height slightly, because the front springs will compress more due to the greater lever arm that the tyre now has.
I am not sure whether the tyres might catch the wheel arches when steering, but often fitting wheels with smaller offset will actually create more tyre clearance.
In principal, I don't think you should worry all too much about the wheel bearing life, because there are many Gen 3 Pajeros running around with aftermarket alloys that have 0 offset and bearing life is not known to be an issue (I assume the iO uses a similar type of front hub to the Gen 3).
