Audible SQUEAK from drivetrain/suspension
I have a Gen4 SWB 2009 3.2DI-D

When I pull off from standstill there is a single squeak from the rear somewhere. It is not coilsprings, and neither is it the rear propshaft as I had the rear propshaft CV joints replaced (I was told this was the problem - and think I was taken for a bit of a ride).

Any known issues on this subject?

Do you have poly bushes perhaps?

On my previous Pajero (99 LWB) I replaced all the robber suspension bushes with poly bushes and they developed quite a squeak later on. There's a grease that used to help a bit, but would start squeaking again whenever they dried out.

Thanks slojo.

I'll have a look, but I do believe the car is pretty standard underneath.

Update:

Problem was solved. I lay under the car and my wife cycled from R to D and back a few times. Squeak emanated from the l/h inner CV joint. On closer inspection there was a really small tear in the boot and most of the grease was out, and just the oil residue and some thin grease left.

Went to a propshaft and CV place where they took it off, inspected it to find 3 small imperfections in the one ball face but no real wear.

New boot, new grease, new clamps and the noise is completely gone.

R1150 well spent.
