GEN 4 radio - Audio Comunication error
OK - first post and I doubt any Gen4 owners on here yet, but you have to start somewhere.

Lately I have received an ' audio communication error' on the screen of the Rockford Fosgate sound system fitted to the GLS Gen4. The radio and Cd seem to still work but the error is on screen and thus no indication of volume, radio station etc are shown. Any ideas for a quick fix before I take it to the dealers?

Hi Cats and welcome! I have no idea what is causing your radio error;perhaps a loose plug?

Your post is in the correct section. The other section is for things like 2-way radios, not the vehicle's sound system.

Yip, that is what I fear as well. Will take it to the dealers tomorrow as it is still on motorplan. Thanks for the welcome and the heads up on the section posting. Good to 'see' you too.

Cats,

Had the same..... did you also play with the fuses in the engine bay???

I took mine in and they reset it. They could not offer an explanation why it did that.

Good to see another Gen4 member. No, I have not played with the fuses. I have not had time to take it to the dealers yet either, but plan to take it to them soon. Does not sound like a serious problem from your experience luckily.

Not sorted out yet. Must still take it to dealer, just did not have time lately and my wife drives that car everyday lately . If it was me it would have driven me CRAZY by now, but you know how it goes:)

Should just call them and take it in. It should not take longer than about 10 minutes.

Right.

So Silvester went in for her 20 000km service today and I had the radio sorted as well. Apparently the rear plug on the radio unit was slightly loose. Might have been when the Ipod cable was connected that it was not properly reinserted. Anyway problem sorted.

You forgot I had the same problem on my Gen 3 ( I posted on the comms forum about it,) I had to simply pull out the radio, unplug the comms and cd shuttle's cables and plug them back it, IIRC it was my data cable that was also slight pulled out
