I have read reports on these and most people give them a good report so we shall see....

Re: New tyres for the financially challenged
I bought my PJ with thse on and added about 20 k on them, which includes a trip to Mozambiek and a couple of sand rides etc. Had no problem (touch wood) as yet and very very happy with them. I know most people say Bridgestone, but for the price I would probably buy my next set Hercules / Merit again, depending if Bridgestone can do me a good deal...hehehe

In SA yes, but they have a good reputation in eg Britain.

R/km they might just be hard to beat (same as the Maxxis)
I agree. They have a track record. See attachement for the comparison

Re: New tyres for the financially challenged
I visited DUNLOP's local agent and had a look at their prices today. They recomended Coopers!

Apparently they are experiencing too many problems with their own brand's off-road tyres.

So I'd like to withdraw my suggestion to consider Dunlops.

They couldn't get to your price for the Hercules tyres - so it seems you have a good deal!

Note that Cooper tyres are distributed in SA by Dunlop SA, so they were recommending a product from their own stable.

Oh, I didn'n know that. Suddenly it makes sense!

Coopers are great tyres, though.... And expensive!
