Good day to all
1998 Pajero eci multi v6 3000(petrol) My cigarette lighter socket works(has power) but the auxliary 12v outlet(in the console under the radio) has no power. Where can I check if power is being supplied to it or the fuse in its circuit is not blown. I have looked in both fuse boxes but have not been able to identify which circuit it is connected to?

Have you checked your fuses?
Does the socket on the rear work? The two are on the same circuit, so if one works, it may be that the socket itself has blown. If the fuse (in fusebox) is NOT blown, you can remove the socket and check behind it - apparently there is also a fuse there.
If not, check the current there - if there is a current, the socket may be faulty - replace.

10 to 1 that you've blown the fuse on the back of the socket itself.
I'm not 100% sure why these things are fused twice and I have never found any info on what fuse wire rating is, so I have just bridged the thing with wire.

The fuse rating for power outlet is 10A.

I assume there is some simple locic to the reason why there are 2, but I do not understand it. Can anyone explain? Or is it just double protection (belt & braces)?

The main circuit is 10 A, but there is no ways the socket fuse wire is 10A. Every Mitsubishi I have owned has blown this fuse wire with an air compressor, and even my new beast of a compressor draws less than 2A. So my question is why have the fuse wire in the socket blow at less than 2A... unless Mitsu are determined for you to not use the sockets for anything more than charging a GPS and cell phone

The swb has only one outlet(centre console). I could not find where or why there is no power on the auxilary outlet. Went to Northern 4x4 in Strijdompark and got them to put in two hella fittings one in the console and a extra one in the back. The old power socket has definitely not got a fuse behind or in it. They ran a new fused circuit from the battery and I will move this when I install the dual battery system next year.

Standard for Pajero Gen 2 SWB are two power outlets, both are fused by 10A. Both of them have power only with ignition ON.
One of them is on the central console, the second one is on the left side of the load bay.

how would you remove the socket?
I blew all three in my gen3 (with a compressor) and i have checked all the fuses, so this all that is left to check
