I was just thinking of maybe saving the cost of buying a fly wheel as well if I can convert and balance the one on the Paj.
Can find the clutch, pressure and release bearing for R2900 and will then have to fit. Seems a more cost effective solution than buying a new setup

my dad has done many thousand kilometers on his 3.2 did with the solid flywheel and clutch setup from the 2.8 and has had no problems whatsoever.
a workshop will charge about R5000 - R7000 for the 2.8 flywheel clutch combination plus labour included.
A dual mass flywheel cost R15k from the dealer before any work has started.
you make the call

Have you checked with Parthunt for the replacement flywheel? There's a guy next door to them that can do the fitment.

Hi guys
I know its a few years down the line. I have a 2000 3.2 swb pajero manual. My dmf is shot and i have read up on the forums about the 4m40 conversion. What i need to know does the 4m40 clutch and smf go with the 4m41 gearbox. I have read about marius fourie and his dad did a conversion like this but hes dad has a 4m40 gearbox.
Thanks guys
Any reply would halp.
Cheers

I dont think the 2.8 smf fits the 4m41 box. Your options are either to replace with aftermarket solid mass flywheel for the 3.2 or new Dmf from the dealers.
