Apparently you have to remove the trim first.

Why don't you rather leave the socket there and add new wiring for a Hella plug in addition?

I have run new cabels from the the front (dual battery).
I removed the trim already, but couldn't figure out how to get the socket out... The socket cover is damaged, so I want to replace it anyway.

Hi Greg,

If its anything like the Gen 2, it is quite tricky, you have to unscrew the housing IIRC,
I took mine apart a while ago as a fuse had blown, and again a few months later, I struggled again, as I couldnt quite remember, what I do remember though, is some part of the housing unscrews, and this solves the problem.
