Just put more oil in the engine. Chuck in an extra pint. It really is as simple as that AND stop fighting the guys about a 5mm "over fill"

The overfill turned out to be 700ml-900ml (I supplied the oil @ R200/5L x 2). If you pay a certified guy/dealer good money to service your car I think it is reasonable to expect better quality of work than that - they did also forget to insert my disptick all the way in during a previous service - I then drove gravel roads for a week before I noticed it - they replaced the filter at their cost (or so they say). What else are they prone to miss if they can't check a simple thing like a dipstick? If the problem is elsewhere, then so be it, but I would still like to figure out what is what for future reference. No person is willing to give me a guarantee regarding the overfill issue and since it is my wallet doing the paying, I am careful.
I think we are getting too used to bad service and would rather keep quiet than make a fuss. Poor service is something I have come to know in the Lowveld the last 3 years.
you mentioned that you used a different oil on the first page of the thread. Maybe try delo 400 with your next change. Majority of members with the 3.2 on here (and elsewhere) use delo 400 in their engines.
Some feedback. I changed to Caltex Delo 400 at the last service and the problem has disappeared - the oil level warning does not light up anymore . The oil is filled to the required level on the dipstick - no overfilling.
