Re: The Great Tyre Debate
Ok, a few things,

1stly re pricing:
Kai, When i bought Bismark, about 2 months ago, (which is when you guys were talking pricing) Supaquick bought out just about all the BFG A/T stock in the country.
A lot of other suppliers didnt have any, and Supaquick had them on special at incredible prices.
So, not sure what the picture would be now.

Then, re the tyre debate:

I bought a set of Cooper Discoverer STTs second hand (about 40% thread left) for R1600 for 4, so I couldnt refuse
I'm so happy I did, as I dont use Bismark of everyday driving.
I find the tyres extremely noisy (but then again, It's not my Golf 5 I'm driving)
I personally feel, if not for those tyres, I would not have almost had to be the 'Hilux recovery vehicle' on my very 1st ever 4x4 (sand duning ) experience.
So I say Cooper STTs all the way, (Unless your touring etc.)
What I actually plan to do is buy another set of rims, and fit them with BFG A/Ts, and swop over, if I know I'm going off-road for a week-end.

Re: The Great Tyre Debate
I have Maxxix Buckshot Mudder 31x10.5x15 fitted and are quite happy with road noise and traction, as they are softer rubber. I'm not sure about the mileage I'll get, as I only fitted them beginning of last year and they have done about 20 000km. I know that the Toyota 4x4Club also recommend them. Price R1600.
