I managed to find a sound reason to drive out to one of our operations

and can now report the following:
1)The mirrors can fold away by manually pushing them in, by pushing the little button in the adjust cluster on the dash, or by a double click on the remote.
2)The fact that they can manually fold away means that they "give" when bumped.
3)The reset speed on my model is at about 30km/h.

On my Sport , if you bump them back or forward, they go 'limp'
Then, just when you think all is lost, there is a 'resetting' action that occurs to re-engage the mirror.
This happens when ignition is turned on.
Then the button to fold / unfold is used as normal.
Tried once to leave them folded, ie to get them to fold automatically when, say, the ignition turns off.
But they just stay folded, no matter what speed.

Titan...,
The mirrors on my car will only unfold automatically if I start-up with them folded away. In other words if the ignition is on and I fold them, then they will stay that way - up to any speed.

My 2007 Pajero GLS (Gen 4) works as Roelf describes - double click and the mirrors fold flat.... and fold out again automatically at about 20 kms per hour. But I must admit I also only found out about the double click trick after reading this thread!

Pejeci,
You mean you didn't memorise the full owner's manual on purchase

Roelf, as you say, it is easier to read the forum than the bulky owners' manual! Off topic: my vehicle had its last service under the maintenance plan last week (at least in time, unlike someone else!!)- now I'm on my own! I drive it only week-ends nowadays (only 53 000kms for a 2007 Gen 4!)and I must say I am looking forward to weekends like never before.. still a beautiful vehicle!

Good day,
Has anyone done the conversion on the Gen 3 early models? Is it a matter of just changing the switch with the little button? If so, I'm off to the scrapyard
regards

I tried it this morning and it doesn't work. Maybe there are other things like relays that I needed to install first before it will work?
