So if I wanted to change from my standard Mitsu oil (dunno what they use) to delo, is there any specific procedure you would recommend?

(like replacing the oil more quickly on the first batch?)

Mitsu Owner's Manual states:

Oil Pan: 7,5L
Oil Filter: 1,0L

Total: 8,5L

+ the 3mm overfill to keep the oil level light quiet = close to 9 liters.

Tuinvurk,

If your car received every service on schedule at the dealer, then there is no reason to suspect that the motor is in a terrible condition.

The "short cycle" oil service is really required for a motor with a dubious service history.

I stuck DELO in my 3.8V6 SWB at the 90k service. The engine was perceptably smoother and even more quiet (than the silky smooth motor it was before the service :) )

Definitely different grades. MIDAS having a special on Delo 400 at the moment - R189.00/ 5l - running out fast.
