Cat is a device used to reduce emissions.

On some vehicles, removal of Cat interferes with the ecu and can cause the engine to run inefficiently. However, as far as I know this is not the case on the Pajeros. The paj only has a Lamda sensor before the cat and therefore the reading is not affected (as far as I know).

The advantages include lower back pressure on the exhaust, reducing exhaust gas temperatures which in theory is supposed to increase lifetime of turbo. Other mentioned benefits (although not experienced by all) include slightly better fuel economy and potentially increased power (but more so for turbo diesels).

So, do you pleasae have any idea wht could be the cause of the engine light in my car, that shows up when i pass 120kmh, or when i make high rerves when overtaking?
