Where did they touch? Top? Front and rear of wheel arch, or on the inside when locking the steering in a direction?

The rear was fine but the front touched on the wheel arch and mud flaps when trying to do a full lock either direction.

Interesting - I just got confirmation from someone on the 4x4community, that they will fit! :)

So maybe different tire brands do/don't fit?

Hmmm, mudflaps I can understand... The I put the GLX flaps on my GLS and noticed a slight difference in the clearance between the wheel and the flap.

I suppose the only fix for a front wheel arch fix, is an off road bumper...?

Gemaskerde Tuinvurk wrote:My biggest worry is with the front wheels, when you lock the steering in either direction, and the coil is full compressed to the bump stop. The bumper seems the closest, but I wonder about he inside of the wheel arch - - does the rear of the front wheels not touch the inside somewhere on full lock?
Just some pictures of 265/70/17 Cooper ST Maxx (note ome coils and nitrocharger shocks resulting in 40 - 45mm lift)

Thats great news! Can't wait for my next tyre replacement! Done any trails with them?

Would love to see some pics when the front is a full bump stop.

Ed. On re-reading I noticed the replacement bumper... Seems like the way to go in the long run.

My friend fitted a set of tyres from a FJ cruiser on his Gen 4(std 2007). I believe these are 265/70/17. I just phoned him to confirm that they touched nowhere. Note that they arent A/T or M/T tyres, just std road tyres

Thats good news! Hopefully it will make the size more common, making the price a bit lower!
