So far so good. Used the new platkar over the easter weekend to plettenberg baai and back felt like cheating on my wife or something. But no more weird overcharging errors on the Pajero. Need to do a battery check still. Thanks all for input.

So are you concluding it was a poor connection at the battery?

Not loose more like possibly fouling of the connections as they felt all pretty tight but a good cleanup seemed to have solved the problem. It was an intermittent problem so will keep an eye on her.
