I'll try your advice next time I'm on bad corrugations (will refer my wife to you)
Just remember to keep the short stick in 4h or 4hlc.

Re: Colt vs pajero
My boss has a gen4 pajero with a lifted suspension and uprated shocks.

It drives extremely harsh. He warned me of a bad stretch of road to Haga Haga. I drove 80km/h most of the way in my car.

A pajero needs to have standard suspension or a "soft" upgrade. I had TJM coils and standard shocks in my Gen3 and that was just as smooth as the stock suspension.

It must also be noted that the standard colt is one of the best gravel handling bakkies there is. Torsion bars and good shocks love gravel roads.
Re: Colt vs pajero
That is my conclusion also. I have yet to drive any bakkie that can handle a gravel road like a colt can.
I did try the 80 to 110km/h thing on the road and what a difference. The van was amazing but I then had to slam on brakes as the worst section ends just before my gate. So I am not keen on that again. The next problem I have is that my car has a whine sometimes and other tines nothing on gravel roads at high speed (80 onwards). Not sre if any of you can help me with that. Swambo say that she does not hear it when she is there but I only hear it when she is there[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY][FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]
Are the gen 3 probe to rattling dashes also and is there a fix if they are?

Re: Colt vs pajero
Hi Nick
I always use 4h on dirt or wet tar. I only use lock when driving slowly on roads where lost tracktion is possible. Are there other times when one should use 4hlc rather than just 4h?
Re: Colt vs pajero
John.G had a look at a Gen3 recently when we did 13 Gen4 dash fixes, i will ask him to post his experience here. But at the end there wasn't enough time to fix anything if I can recall correctly.

Re: Colt vs pajero
Also Iron Man fitted with 50mm lift and noticeable stiffer (harder ride). But definitely not loose on gravel roads.

Re: Colt vs pajero
Ok. So your pajero is then very much like mine. It is stiff and hard and lots of rattles on gravel roads but never even thinks of floating.
When increasing speed, it then just does not even feel the bumps and does not rattle but still is very stable and follows every instruction exactly as I tell it
